I was looking at two graphs from Lacan in The Sublime Object of Ideology by Zizek when I decided to see how well Lacan explained the kind of circular reasoning with short circuits in my copy of Ecrits.

Mission impossible?
When you take an erudite French psychoanalyst, who is presenting his take on Freud's German by pressing it through the sieve of French semiotics, one can only hope for so much when that text is then further strained by being pressed into English.
